Pyramid Lake painting
I painted this scene of Pyramid Lake last year - 8x10 - oil on wood panel. I wanted to give the impression of the wide open skies that we have here in Nevada. I've visited this site several times throughout the years - even took a couple of families out there for their family portraits! John C. Fremont was perhaps the first non-native to see the lake (a stray mountain man could have beaten him to it), and he named it Pyramid Lake, for obvious reasons.

The old Riverside Hotel oil painting - Reno, Nevada
The Riverside Hotel was a Reno icon back in the day - hosting many celebrities and anchoring the location of the first toll bridge across the Truckee River. Today it enjoys re-purposed life as the Riverside Artist Lofts. I do not live there, but who knows - one day?

New year - new blog - new art!
OK, and here we go! Super Bowl Sunday seems like the perfect time to create a blog. Please allow me to opine about painting, photography, art in general, and maybe life! Hopefully you will check back and check in with this humble artist from Reno, Nevada.
I created this piece just the other day - fall color as seen in the Carson Valley of Nevada. It's 6x6" - just a tad bigger than your cell phone!
