My view of Hope Valley - just south of Lake Tahoe, and the historic path of gold field bound emigrants headed towards the mother lode during the California gold rush.  If you know where to look, there are remnants of the old trail, and a couple of instances of emigrants signing their names in wagon axle grease on the rocks.  They are still faintly readable.  I love this area, and its only about an hour from home.
